The Beginning of Tribulation
- Passage
- Revelation 6
- Taught
- April 6, 2025
Summary
The slides place the seal judgments at the start of the Tribulation, the “beginning of birth pains” of Matthew 24. They list the titles of the Antichrist found across Scripture, including the beast, the man of lawlessness, the little horn and the prince who is to come, and look at the timing passages in 2 Thessalonians 2 and Daniel 9.
Revelation 6 is read seal by seal: the white horse and its rider with a bow, the red horse of war, the black horse and the scales of famine, the pale horse named Death with Hades following, the souls of the martyrs under the altar who ask how long, and the sixth seal, with its great earthquake, a darkened sun and a sky rolled up like a scroll as men hide and ask, “Who can stand?”
The slides close with four takeaways: be spiritually prepared, recognize the temporary nature of material things, live with humility, and find hope in redemption.
The first six seals
The class read the seals in order:
- 6:1–2. First seal, the white horse.
- 6:3–4. Second seal, the red horse.
- 6:5–6. Third seal, the black horse.
- 6:7–8. Fourth seal, the pale horse.
- 6:9–11. Fifth seal, the martyrs under the altar.
- 6:12–17. Sixth seal, the great day of wrath.
